The traditional tea ceremony for South China lasts for several hours with twelve rounds of sipping, smelling and slurping (yes slurping), small cups of steaming tea. I learned that slurping your tea is considered polite in the Chinese culture because you take in more air and this helps the flavor.
I drove out to Grand Haven to photograph this season’s blueberry crop and the weather was beautiful. Munching on blueberries and hanging out with families who were dedicated to filling their cartons was one of those nice, hmmm…ahhhhh assignments. Breath of fresh air.

I hung out at East Kentwood High School last week to take some band camp pictures for an audio slide show me and another photographer did. I liked the shot of this kid taking a break from the symbols. If you think about it, band camp is quite strenuous 🙂
