The Public Museum was giving free carousel rides through Christmas Break. I snuck one in on assignment. Not surprisingly, looking through a camera while spinning is not so easy on the stomach. (Grand Rapids Press Photo).
On Christmas Eve, my brother and sister-in-law announced they were having their first baby by handing my mother-in-law a Christmas Card. The card read “Merry Christmas from Zach, Jess, and Baby Zoladz.” As my mother-in-law read the words from the card out loud her face distorted and the room pretty much erupted. Congratulations Zach and Jess!
