Kassidi Olson, 10, of Hastings gets a piggy back ride from Trisha Kietzman of Middleville while waiting in line to help stake American flags at Cannonsburg Ski Area Friday as part of the “Healing Field.” The hill has 3,200 flags, each representing a life that was lost on September 11. Each post contains a tag with the name of a victim and their story. The Healing Field is a national memorial that was done in 16 locations across the U.S. this weekend. Volunteers from the community and local businesses worked from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. to stake the flags and ended the process with a “Rise to Glory,” ceremony. The Healing Field will remain up for the public to visit until Tuesday.
