Volunteers are led by Michigan National Guardsmen down a hill covered in 3,200 American flags at Cannonsburg Ski Area Friday as after constructing the “Healing Field.” Each flag represents a life that was lost on September 11with the name of a victim and their story. The Healing Field is a national memorial that was done in 16 locations across the U.S. this weekend. Volunteers from the community and local businesses worked from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. to stake the flags and ended the process with a “Rise to Glory,” ceremony. The Healing Field will remain up for the public to visit until Tuesday.
