Tiles decorated by neighborhood kids dry in the sun before they are nailed to the Briggs Park butterfly garden fence, part of the new playground at 324 Knapp Street N.E. Friday as workers from Amway, the City of Grand Rapids, Creston Neighborhood Association, KaBOOM!, and Ottawa Hills High School came together to complete the project in one day. Volunteers started at 9:30 a.m. with a deployment ceremony and finished with a ribbon cutting at the end of the day. The park was designed with the help of neighborhood kids who participated in a Design Day in March.
