After 17 years in a Riverside area neighborhood, this mailman was re-routed by the Grand Rapids postal service. The community was so sad to see him go, they started a petition to keep him. I covered Marty’s last route and witnessed gifts, tearful hugs, and stories…and was reminded why I love community journalism.
